This Senior Accountant role supports month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements within a rapidly growing, private equity-backed healthcare organization. The role focuses on scaling operations and evolving the finance and accounting infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with FP&A and operational teams
- Partner with external auditors and advisors, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries
- Support accounting integration for new entities and acquisitions
- Leverage Workday Financials to improve reporting accuracy, automation, and process efficiency
- Identify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancements
- Assist with compliance related to healthcare regulations and reporting requirements
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to building scalable accounting processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Blend of public accounting and corporate accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with Workday Financials required or strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Nice to Have
- CPA preferred or in progress
- Public accounting (Big 4 or national/regional firm preferred)
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment highly desirable
- Experience with financial systems and ERP implementations
