Senior Accountant - Private Equity

About This Role

This Senior Accountant role supports month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements within a rapidly growing, private equity-backed healthcare organization. The role focuses on scaling operations and evolving the finance and accounting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with FP&A and operational teams
• Partner with external auditors and advisors, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries
• Support accounting integration for new entities and acquisitions
• Leverage Workday Financials to improve reporting accuracy, automation, and process efficiency
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancements
• Assist with compliance related to healthcare regulations and reporting requirements
• Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to building scalable accounting processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Blend of public accounting and corporate accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials required or strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience

Nice to Have

• CPA preferred or in progress
• Public accounting (Big 4 or national/regional firm preferred)
• Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment highly desirable
• Experience with financial systems and ERP implementations
