Clinical Information Systems Analyst

About This Role

This role involves implementing, developing, and continuously improving clinical applications within a prestige hospital system, acting as a key member of the Tech Services team. This position uses technical skills and healthcare knowledge to significantly impact the organization and patients.

Responsibilities

• Implement and develop assigned clinical applications, ensuring they meet the needs of healthcare providers and patients
• Actively participate in workflow design, build, implementation, evaluation, and end-user education
• Work closely with internal resources and vendors to upgrade applicable software or enhancements, including testing any new functionalities, enhancements, or upgrades
• Lead new projects as assigned, including delegating work and reviewing others' work products
• Analyze applications and make recommendations for improvement
• Troubleshoot problems and errors produced by applications and end-users, working closely with end-users and vendors to effectively correct the problems
• Support and troubleshoot interfaces for inbound/outbound data
• Determine operational objectives by analyzing functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats
• Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation, providing help desk support, and training users
• Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field (or 4 additional years of experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle Health/Cerner (implementation, testing, support)
• Experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to troubleshoot interfaces for inbound/outbound data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle Health/Cerner, including implementation, testing, and ongoing support, or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
