Senior Accountant: Fixed Assets

About This Role

This role is for a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant specializing in Fixed Assets to join a finance team in the manufacturing industry. The position involves managing fixed assets, conducting audits, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance, contributing directly to the financial health and transparency of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the fixed assets of the organization, including tracking, recording, and depreciation schedules.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with the law.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and reports on changes in financial position.
• Perform account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Conduct variance analysis for revenues and expenditures to identify trends and make recommendations.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring the general ledger is accurate and up-to-date.
• Carry out the end-of-year close process, preparing the organization for the upcoming fiscal year.
• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to review and improve accounting processes and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts and participate in the ongoing strategic planning.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
• Proficiency in financial software and databases
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
