Security Officer

About This Role

Serve as a Courtesy Officer to patrol the community during evening and weekend hours, identify potential safety concerns, and enforce property policies for a student living property.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly patrols of the community looking for vandalism, suspicious behavior/activity, and breakdowns in physical security regarding access
• Identify light bulbs that are not working properly and cars that violate community policies
• Maintain a nightly log of patrols and reports, providing documentation on specific issues to the General Manager bi-weekly
• Report observed disturbances, incidents, maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions to the General Manager
• Respond appropriately to resident complaints and community disturbances including unauthorized parties, loitering, and disruptive vehicles
• Respond to all resident calls promptly, including lockouts, complaints and other various items as directed

Requirements

• Actively employed with a law enforcement agency (Bloomington Police Department, Indiana State Police, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Indiana University Police, etc.)
• Professional representation of the community at all times, including maintaining a courteous demeanor
• Clean record/background
