Security Officer

About This Role

Enforce policies and procedures for safety and security at a healthcare facility, patrolling grounds, monitoring visitors, and responding to assistance requests. This role involves maintaining records and preparing incident reports while de-escalating stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Enforce policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff.
• Patrol and secure facility buildings and grounds as assigned.
• Monitor conduct of visitors on premises and confront unauthorized persons for questioning.
• Report safety, fire hazards or security violations.
• Respond to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors.
• Assist with problem-solving situations with positive outcomes.
• Escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.
• Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
• Prioritize calls for service in order of urgency based on safety needs.
• De-escalate highly stressful situations as soon as possible.

• Demonstrate the physical ability to perform basic security officers functions as trained

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. College or vocational education is preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security, and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.
