Security Officer

About This Role

This Security Officer role ensures the hospital remains a safe environment by responding to emergencies, documenting incidents, and enforcing regulations while maintaining professionalism. The officer will support CommonSpirit Health’s strategic plan and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the healthcare enterprise remains a safe place
• Respond rapidly to security emergencies within the hospital or other healthcare settings
• Document all incidents and requests for assistance within the hospital reporting platform
• Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned site
• Preserve order and act to enforce regulations and policies when assistance is requested by medical staff/employees
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core value and Humankindness

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting or Law enforcement or military service OR One (1) year experience as a security officer
• Familiar with duties and responsibility of being a security officer
• Able to properly use assigned equipment and follow established policies and procedures
• Completes ICS 100HCb, 200b, & 700a training courses within 90 days of hire
• Maintain all other required training/certifications
• Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally and in writing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting or Law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a security officer.
