Security Officer

About This Role

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you will protect client properties and ensure safety by observing and reporting suspicious activities, maintaining a professional security presence, and conducting patrols. This role involves customer service, access control, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor (Customer Service)
• Observe and report any suspicious activities and incidents
• Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, and control centers (Security Presence)
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas, performing security officer duties
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures (Access Control)
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, enforcing policies and procedures and reporting safety concerns
• Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel
• Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through with client requests, and keep site supervisor/operations manager updated

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent education certification (GED)
• Ability to pass a drug screening (including for marijuana)
• No felony convictions
• No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary)
• Ability to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio
• Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training
• Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Professional and possess excellent customer service skills
• Excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude
• Complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• No prior experience required.

Nice to Have

• Military veterans and people with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience
