Security Officer

About This Role

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of client properties by conducting patrols, observing and reporting incidents, and maintaining a professional presence. You will also assist with customer service, access control, and emergency response to create a safe environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers with a positive and professional demeanor
• Identify and report suspicious activities and incidents
• Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in building lobbies, reception areas, and control centers
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas
• Prevent unauthorized persons from entering restricted areas and check IDs
• Enforce policies, report safety concerns, and ensure a secure environment
• Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel
• Maintain professional communication with client staff and keep site supervisor updated

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent education certification (GED)
• Ability to pass a drug screening (including for marijuana)
• No felony convictions (per MCL 338.1060)
• No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses (per MCL 338.1060)
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted)
• Ability to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio)
• Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer for emails and online training
• Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Professionalism and excellent customer service skills
• Excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• No prior experience is required; military veterans and those with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
