About This Role

Provide specialized speech-language pathology services within an elementary school setting, focusing on transitional programming for young adults aged 18 to 22. This in-person contract position contributes to empowering students towards community integration and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver speech-language pathology services tailored to the developmental needs of students aged 18-22
  • Collaborate with special education staff to design and implement transition programming focused on community participation and independence
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of therapy outcomes
  • Participate in team meetings and individualized education plan (IEP) development sessions
  • Uphold state licensure requirements and professional standards

Requirements

  • Active Illinois license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) is required
  • Experience working with special education populations in school settings

Qualifications

  • Experience working with special education populations in school settings.

Nice to Have

  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
