About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in PACU provides patient care utilizing the nursing process, adheres to the Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrates accountability for quality patient outcomes. This role involves effective delegation, direction, and assistance to the nursing team while maintaining sensitivity to diversity.

Responsibilities

• Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and group needs.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly.
• Serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
• Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
