AVP, Hospital Operations

About This Role

This AVP-Hospital Operations role is crucial to overseeing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and execution of operational projects within the hospital. This position contributes to strategic planning, implements productivity and customer-service standards, and leads budget management for areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of operational projects as assigned
• Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations for strategic and long term planning
• Implement productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
• Resolve problems, identify trends, determine system improvements and implement change
• Communicate and interpret organizational and departmental goals and objectives to all areas of responsibility
• Develop and assume accountability for departmental budgets and provide leadership and direction in planning, implementation, and evaluation activities
• Leads the coordination, implementation and execution of operational/expansion and performance improvement projects as assigned
• Assists with operational responsibility for ancillary and support services
• Supports overall strategic goals of the organization and identifies potential growth opportunities
• Participates in physician development and relations
• Participates in community outreach activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration or related field
• 10 years of experience in successfully managing complex hospital and patient care delivery
• 3 years of leadership/management experience
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent conflict management skills
• Ability to relate to executive management, professionals and business and community leaders
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration or related field
• 10 years of experience in successfully managing complex hospital and patient care delivery, including 3 years of leadership/management experience
