About This Role

The professional registered nurse plans, coordinates, and manages patient care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve desired outcomes. This role involves clinical decision-making, quality improvement participation, and maintaining a safe patient environment.

Responsibilities

• Practice under the tenets of Centra's Professional Practice Model
• Plan, coordinate, manage, and document the care provided to assigned patients
• Delegate to care providers according to the ANA Principles of Nurse Staffing
• Think critically as evidenced by appropriate clinical decision-making and prioritization
• Lead, communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan patient care
• Create and maintain an environment that protects patients from harm
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG)
• Participate in initiatives resulting from nurse-sensitive quality indicators and/or unit-based quality metrics
• Ensure appropriate patient and/or caregiver education with utilization of applicable resources
• Promote and sustain a culture reflective of Centra's best practices

Requirements

• Current, active license as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or current multi-state licensure privilege
• Current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
