About This Role

This contract Registered Nurse position specializes in Medical-Surgical care, providing inpatient services in a community-focused healthcare setting near Ellinwood, Kansas. The role involves delivering compassionate nursing care, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to medical-surgical inpatients
• Administer and monitor intravenous medications including Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate appropriately
• Participate in floating within scope to the Emergency Department as needed
• Support weekend, holiday, and on-call staffing rotation requirements
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and compliance with facility protocols

Requirements

• Current Kansas RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year hospital experience in medical-surgical nursing
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification
• Ability to work assigned shifts: Days, 06:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Must meet nicotine-free workplace policy
• Willingness to commit to 2 weekends and holiday rotation as required

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year hospital experience in medical-surgical nursing

Nice to Have

• Experience with IV medication infusions such as Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem
