Supervise all patient care areas within Haven Behavioral Hospital, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and promoting the organization's mission. Provide managerial and clinical support while overseeing patient care activities and mentoring nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision of all patient care areas in the hospital
- Apply independent judgment in the interpretation of hospital and nursing policies and procedures
- Serve as managerial and clinical links between the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager in their absence
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Maintain standards of professional nursing practice
- Assess patients utilizing the nursing process to formulate individualized plans of care
- Implement interventions and evaluate outcomes consistent with policy
- Provide for the safe delivery of medication
- Ensure thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress
- Assume responsibility for professional development, continuing education, and maintaining licensure
Requirements
- Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in resident working state
- Minimum of 3 years Registered Nursing experience
- Psychiatric nursing experience
- Ability to determine appropriate course of action in complex situations
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Organizational skills
- Understanding and sensitivity to culturally diverse and special needs populations
- Basic knowledge of normal physical and emotional development
- Critical thinking abilities for continuous improvement of patient care
- Self-confidence and ability to think conceptually in leading and directing others
- Ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Successful completion of an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 3 years Registered Nursing experience
