This role involves collaborating with nursing leadership to assess educational needs, developing and conducting facility-specific orientation, and designing programs to enhance nursing practice. The Nurse Educator will also coordinate student placements and utilize adult education principles to implement learning activities at Atrium Health Cleveland Pines, an award-winning nursing and rehabilitation facility.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess needs for orientation and continuing education for nursing team.
- Develops and conducts facility specific orientation for licensed and non-licensed nursing team.
- Facilitates 30 day new employee orientation and 90 day reunion sessions.
- Designs programs that enhance the practice of nursing and assist learners with licensure and certification requirements.
- Coordinates with Nurse Managers to place, orient, and organize preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Utilizes adult education principles to plan, design, and implement educational activities based on identified learning needs.
- Works as a program Planner.
- Assesses learning needs through direct observation, formal needs assessment, and program evaluation.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN licensure
- BSN required
- 3 years clinical experience in related area (OR, ER, acute care)
- BLS required per policy guidelines

Nice to Have
- Specialty certification for specific area (e.g., Med Ctr Air Flight Nurse Educator)
