This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Emergency Department at Baylor Scott & White Health coordinates patient care delivery using the BSWH nursing professional practice model. The RN assesses patients, develops and implements individualized care plans, and evaluates patient responses to ensure their safe passage through the healthcare encounter. This role requires experience in an emergency department setting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care delivery using the BSWH nursing professional practice model
- Assess patients according to practice standards and identify nursing diagnoses
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Promote safe passage for patients by preventing complications or delays
- Delegate interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act
- Conduct accurate clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs
- Systematically evaluate nursing practice quality and effectiveness
- Create a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff
- Recognize and incorporate patient's and family's unique differences into care plans
- Preserve and protect the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and family
- Facilitate learning for patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement integrated care plans
- Use strategies and available resources for problem-solving for patients, family, and staff
- Improve nursing practice and work environment through shared governance and decision-making
Requirements
- Graduation from an Accredited Program with a major in Nursing
- 2 Years of ED RN Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire/transfer
Qualifications
- Grad of an Accredited Program with a major in Nursing
- 2 Years Recent Emergency Department RN experience
