RN Educator Perioperative Services

About This Role

The RN Educator Perioperative Services serves as a consultant, change agent, and facilitator to assess learning needs and plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for staff and patients in assigned perioperative areas. This role focuses on facility-wide education, ensuring competent services aligning with Riverside Health System standards and goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, maintenance, and systemization of policies, procedures, and care services
• Coordinate and integrate services across Riverside Health System and the community
• Participate in budget planning and monitoring for defined areas, including resource allocation
• Create and maintain an efficient, competent, and professional work environment to achieve strategic goals
• Monitor clinical activities to identify risks and learning opportunities, continuously improving service and patient care outcomes
• Interpret and maintain regulatory and accreditation standards in accordance with patient safety standards and Riverside Code of Conduct
• Proactively identify and follow through on issues, ensuring immediate resolution and communication with the team
• Address physician, staff, patient, and community issues/concerns, following through within 72 hours

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or a compact state
• CPR/BLS Certification

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree, Nursing
• 1 year RN experience in acute care setting; 1 year experience with teaching in a clinical or formal setting preferred.

Nice to Have

• Masters Degree in Nursing or Healthcare
• 1 year of experience with teaching in a clinical or formal setting
• ACLS Provider Certification
• Specialty Certification (e.g., CMSRN, CCRN, etc.)
