The Registered Nurse in Bone Marrow is responsible for overseeing patient care by conducting detailed clinical assessments, prioritizing patient and family needs, and creating and implementing care plans. This role involves educating patients and families, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs
- Create, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, adjusting them to reach desired outcomes
- Build therapeutic connections with patients and families, managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members on healthcare choices and assess learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues and the community to develop care plans and delegate tasks appropriately
- Utilize problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff, prioritizing safety and efficiency in care delivery
- Achieve goals through teamwork, contribute to peers' development, and show commitment to community service
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- RN license
- BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and laws
- Proficiency in medical terms, health, disease prevention, management, and common medications
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Positive social skills
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, payroll, EMR, email)
Qualifications
- Grad of an Accredited Program in Nursing
- 2 Years of Experience
