About This Role

This Registered Nurse position in Psychiatric Services provides direct and indirect patient care within a behavioral health setting. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates psychiatric nursing care, coordinating treatment plans and ensuring patient safety and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric assessments and formulate individualized care plans
• Monitor patient condition, evaluate responses to care, and update treatment plans
• Administer medications and treatments, including psychotropics
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and therapeutic routines
• Participate in therapeutic interventions including group, family, or individual sessions
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team and support discharge planning
• Engage in crisis intervention and behavioral de-escalation as needed
• Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
• Maintain confidentiality and foster a safe, therapeutic environment

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or Compact State RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Handle With Care (HWC) or CPI certification

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required
• Six months of RN experience in a direct patient care setting preferred; experience in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing strongly preferred.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Six months of RN experience in a direct patient care setting
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
