Retail Store Management Trainee

About This Role

Lead the day-to-day operations of a retail store, develop employees, and drive financial performance. This role is designed for experienced retail managers seeking to fast-track into a management position.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues
• Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards
• Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels
• Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, and documentation
• Administer in-store processes and procedures for inventory, loan management, and reporting
• Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting
• Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of loans
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development
• Communicate clearly with employees regarding store mission and profit objectives
• Remain up-to-date on product knowledge

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year retail management experience (for fast-track)
• Minimum 6 months Store Management experience (general)
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified
• Ability to work in multiple locations
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule (weekends and holidays included)
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and office machines
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Analytical skills
• Cash handling experience is required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense
• Minimum Age: 18 years old

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 1+ year retail management experience for fast-track, or 6+ months for general Store Manager Trainee
