Retail Sales Associate

About This Role

The Retail Sales Associate is an entry-level, full-time position responsible for engaging with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions in a pawn store environment. This role requires developing rapport with customers and maintaining an organized sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions
• Perform non-management open/close procedures
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle all cash and negotiable items per established policies and requirements
• Answer incoming calls per company standards
• Effectively communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers
• Partner with employees to create a positive customer experience
• Successfully complete assigned training

Requirements

• Minimum age 18 years old
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform duties for extended periods including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Strong desire to work and serve customers, team-oriented
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Cash handling experience
• Bilingual proficiency
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate
