About This Role

The Retail Store Management Trainee will be accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store and will partner with the Store Manager to lead employees, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. This role is designed for individuals with retail management experience who are interested in a "fast-track" to a Store Management position.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, and ensuring all asset protection procedures are followed.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year retail management experience
  • Minimum 6 months store management experience
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform duties and tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others
  • Ability to work with firearms (and become certified in FFL locations)
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays, 45+ hours a week
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Cash handling experience

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 year retail management experience; minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience.
