Retail Sales Associate

About This Role

This role involves engaging with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions within a pawn store setting, while also maintaining a clean and stocked sales floor. The associate will work with a variety of merchandise and assist with customer inquiries to ensure a positive experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions
• Perform non-management open/close procedures
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise display
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle all cash and negotiable items per established policies and regulatory requirements
• Answer incoming calls per company standards
• Communicate effectively to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers
• Partner with employees to create a positive customer experience
• Successfully complete assigned training

Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform duties and tasks for extended periods including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified
• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Entry-level position, strong desire to work and serve customers, cash handling experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Cash handling experience
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate
