Retail Sales Associate

About This Role

This role involves engaging with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions within a pawn store setting. The associate will assist customers with inquiries, problem resolution, and maintain the sales floor, working with a variety of merchandise and handling cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions
• Perform non-management opening and closing procedures for the store
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and regulations
• Handle all cash and negotiable items per company policies and regulatory requirements
• Answer incoming calls according to company standards
• Effectively communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience
• Successfully complete assigned training

Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform duties and tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting)
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified
• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Cash handling experience is preferred
• Bilingual skills
