About This Role

As a Retail Cosmetics Sales Associate at Macy's, also known as a Beauty Advisor, you will be the trusted expert for customers seeking beauty advice. You will create a personalized shopping experience, build lasting client relationships, and drive sales through product demonstrations, tailored consultations, and consistent follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Greet teammates, ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and prepared for customers
• Review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, top-selling items, current trends, and promotions
• Offer a warm welcome, make eye contact, and create friendly, personal conversations to build customer relationships
• Maintain a shoppable space by tidying the counter and sales floor, refreshing signage and pricing, and assisting with merchandise moves
• Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have all they need, and thank them sincerely
• Support teammates with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers
• Strive to improve every day, take pride in work, achieve sales goals, and learn from each other

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
• Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
• Ability to deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships with customers, uncovering their needs, demonstrating product application, and educating them on benefits and use of beauty products
• Ability to drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized and shoppable space, leveraging clienteling tools, participating in sales events, and staying up to date through ongoing training and vendor education
• Ability to meet and surpass daily sales goals by delivering exceptional service
• Responsibility for acquiring new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
• Ability to effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience required
