About This Role

As a Retail Cosmetics Sales Associate at Macy's, you will act as a Beauty Advisor, building client relationships, offering expert advice, and conducting product demonstrations to drive sales and create a personalized shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and teammates warmly, ensuring the sales floor is clean and organized
• Review sales goals and stay updated on new arrivals, trends, and promotions
• Engage with customers to build relationships, offer expert advice, and conduct product demonstrations
• Provide tailored consultations, including makeup application and skincare recommendations
• Introduce customers to new items and innovations based on their unique needs and style
• Grow and manage a loyal client base through consistent follow-up and personalized service
• Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing
• Share Loyalty program benefits and ensure customer satisfaction at checkout
• Support teammates through honesty, care, and collaboration
• Strive for continuous improvement, achieve sales goals, and learn from colleagues

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors in English
• Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
• Ability to deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships, uncovering needs, demonstrating product application, and educating on beauty products
• Responsible for acquiring new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
• Ability to drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized space, leveraging clienteling tools, participating in sales events, and staying updated through training and vendor education
• Ability to meet and surpass daily sales goals by delivering exceptional service
• Ability to effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools
• At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience
