Research Senior Technician

About This Role

Support senior lab members in lung cancer research and translational therapeutics by assisting with animal work and molecular biology techniques, primarily during evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support senior lab members with animal work and experimental techniques
• Monitor animal health and perform procedures on mice (injections, bleeding, oral gavage, weighing, handling, ear tagging, ear punching, euthanasia)
• Process mouse tissues and blood samples for downstream analysis
• Perform and assist with molecular biology techniques like protein/DNA/RNA isolations, Western blots, PCR, and bacterial cloning
• Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results and data validity
• Summarize data for grant proposals and manuscripts, assisting with writing and figure generation
• Prepare research progress reports and assist with publications
• Independently review scientific literature to update protocols and troubleshoot procedures
• Assist full-time staff with lab maintenance as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, health, or related science field or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in research or a lab environment with animal handling and experimental treatments
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to work independently after normal business hours

• Previous experience in research or a lab environment with animal handling and experimental treatments required.
