Medical Assistant 1 - OBGYN

About This Role

Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians, providers, nurses, and patients within an OBGYN medical office or hospital setting, focusing on efficient operation, patient care management, documentation, and communication while enhancing patient experience and quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for efficient medical office/hospital operations
• Support physicians, providers, and nurses in patient care management
• Assist in patient documentation and communication
• Perform advanced clinical support tasks without supervision in some cases
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
• Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments
• Arrange examining-room instruments and equipment
• Maintain supplies and equipment, keeping waiting and examining rooms neat and clean
• Verify patient information through interviews and medical history recording
• Confirm purpose of patient visits and prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests (e.g., blood pressure, weight, temperature) and reporting patient history summary

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program OR Minimum 1-year total Medical Assisting experience OR Military Medic Training OR EMT-Paramedic Training

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred, or successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program, or minimum 1-year Medical Assisting experience, or Military Medic Training, or EMT-Paramedic Training
