Remote Technician Manager

About This Role

This role involves overseeing the IT Division's operations to align with regional business objectives for Internet services and village implementation projects. The manager will coordinate and direct IT activities and provide administrative support for IT technicians in remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all village systems, including PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the village infrastructure and village systems
• Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services
• Approve and oversee projects that pertain to village services
• Assist in the implementation of all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provisioning
• Administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements
• Practice asset management for village hardware, software, and equipment
• Manage IT staffing in remote sites including recruitment, supervision, planning projects, organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources, fostering innovation, strategic planning of daily operations, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
• Maintain regular written and in-person communications with the IT Director regarding pertinent IT activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five years management experience in computer field
• Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems
• Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
• Extensive application support experience
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. College education in computer science may be substituted for experience year for year.
• Five years management experience in computer field
