Relief Veterinarian

This role offers independent veterinary contractors total career flexibility, allowing them to improve the lives of pets and pet parents by providing high-quality, accessible veterinary care within their community.

Responsibilities

• Select shifts with no minimum or maximum number required
• Determine rate for each relief shift chosen
• Focus on delivering the best care and patient experience possible
• Manage traffic using an appointment-based model
• Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations and medications, heartworm testing, and microchip insertion (Vetco Vaccination Clinics)
• Provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures (Vetco Total Care Hospitals)
• Partner with area medical director to review comfort level of cases (Vetco Total Care Hospitals)
• Perform blood draws and administer vaccines
• Comply with all local, state, and federal mandates

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
• Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
• Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
• Compliance with all local state and federal mandates

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Nice to Have

• DEA in good standing
