Relief Veterinarian

About This Role

This role offers independent veterinarians the flexibility to provide high-quality veterinary care through Vetco's accessible clinics and hospitals, managing their own schedules and rates. It allows for a focus on patient care with operational support from trained staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage own schedule and set rates for relief shifts
• Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and microchip insertions at Vetco Vaccination Clinics
• Conduct preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures at Vetco Total Care Hospitals
• Partner with area medical director to review comfort level of cases (for Total Care Hospital shifts)
• Utilize digital patient records, surgical suites, ultrasound, and digital/dental X-ray in Total Care Hospitals
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal mandates

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
• Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
• Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
• Compliance with all local state and federal mandates

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license

Nice to Have

• DEA in good standing (preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts)
