Relief Veterinarian

About This Role

As an independent veterinary contractor, you will work with Vetco (a division of Petco) to provide high-quality veterinary care to pets in your community. This role offers flexible online booking, allowing you to choose your shifts and set your own rate while focusing on delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations and medications, heartworm testing, and microchip insertion at Vetco Vaccination Clinics
• Conduct preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures at Vetco Total Care Hospitals
• Partner with area medical director to review comfort level of cases for hospital shifts
• Focus on delivering best care and patient experience possible with support from trained staff
• Comply with all local state and federal mandates

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
• Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
• Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
• Compliance with all local state and federal mandates

Nice to Have

• DEA in good standing (preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts)
