Relief Veterinarian

About This Role

This role offers independent veterinary contractors total career flexibility, allowing them to improve the lives of pets by delivering high-quality, accessible veterinary care through Vetco's clinics.

Responsibilities

• Select shifts with no minimum or maximum number required
• Determine your own rate for each relief shift chosen
• Practice activities outside of Vetco shifts without agency fees
• Focus on delivering the best care and patient experience possible
• Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations and medications, heartworm testing, and microchip insertion at Vaccination Clinics
• Provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures at Total Care Hospitals
• Partner with the area medical director to review comfort level of cases at Hospitals
• Comply with all local state and federal mandates

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
• Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
• Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
• Compliance with all local state and federal mandates

Nice to Have

• DEA in good standing preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts
