This role offers total career flexibility as an independent veterinary contractor, making high-quality veterinary care accessible to pets. It requires performing wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and other procedures with the support of trained staff.

Responsibilities

• Select shifts with no minimum or maximum required
• Determine your own rate for each relief shift chosen
• Deliver the best care and patient experience possible
• Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and administer medications
• Conduct heartworm testing and microchip insertion at Vetco Vaccination Clinics
• Perform preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures at Vetco Total Care Hospitals
• Partner with area medical director to review comfort level of cases for hospital shifts
• Maintain state-specific licensing to perform blood draws and administer vaccines
• Comply with all local, state, and federal mandates

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
• Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
• Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
• Compliance with all local state and federal mandates
