Process release of information requests, including retrieving, scanning, and transmitting medical records, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Complete release of information requests, including retrieving and scanning patient medical charts
- Date stamp all requests and highlight data to expedite processing
- Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information in accordance with procedures
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and providers
- Ensure that files are properly stored and maintained
- Receive and prioritize customer requests from multiple sources and work them to completion within required timeframes
- Address customer inquiries for patient information and assist callers with making record requests
- Educate customers on information confidentiality and privacy regulations
- Identify and respond appropriately to both internal and external customer needs utilizing available resources
Requirements
- 3 years of ROI experience
- ROI Navigator Module in EPIC
- Strong customer service skills
- High level of confidentiality / HIPPA knowledge
- Data entry and processing accuracy of 95%
- Experience with e-fax and PDF applications
