This role provides essential clerical support to professional caregivers by managing all aspects of patient registration. Responsibilities include handling registration, insurance verification, financial assistance information, and point-of-service collections while maintaining accurate data input and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Manage all functions related to patient registration
- Handle registration, insurance verification, financial assistance information, and Point of Service Collections
- Ensure accurate data input and record keeping
- Adhere to all credit card handling processes due to potential access to sensitive third-party credit card information
- Courteously and Professionally greet patients
- Obtain accurate demographic insurance information
- Correctly code and verify insurance coverage
- Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs
- Answer all incoming calls to the facility
- Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions
- Ability to work other locations as needed
Requirements
- 1 year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience
- 2 years of customer service experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire
Qualifications
- Associates Other or a combination of education and job-related experience
- 1 year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience and 2 years of customer service experience
Nice to Have
- 1 year of management, supervisor, or lead experience
