The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care within the Yale New Haven Health System, upholding the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives to ensure the highest level of care. The RN practices professional nursing within legal and ethical frameworks, focusing on leadership, delegation, collaboration, effective communication, and quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Collect pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or situation
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation
- Develop and modify a plan of care that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
- Implement the identified plan of care
- Coordinate care delivery and transitions in care
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Participate in professional role activities including leadership, appropriate to education and position
- Engage in ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, and effective communication
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current BCLS certification or obtained within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- At least 2 years of critical care or ED experience
- ACLS/BLS Required
- Telemetry experience required
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
- At least 2 years of critical care or ED experience
