Clinical Social Worker

About This Role

This role involves providing clinical social work expertise in assessment and treatment for patients and families within inpatient and ambulatory settings of Yale New Haven Health System. The social worker will apply advanced clinical skills to diagnose, counsel, and intervene in various mental health contexts.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation
• Teach and mentor within interdisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with healthcare teams throughout the organization
• Maintain professionalism with individuals of all ages, diverse cultural, socioeconomic, racial, ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities
• Maintain and enhance knowledge and skills through educational opportunities to meet licensure, hospital, and departmental standards

Requirements

• Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work
• 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience (CT)
• 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision (CT)
• 24 months of experience as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision (RI)
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work
• For CT, 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision; for RI, 24 months of experience licensed as an LICSW under appropriate supervision.
