Registered Nurse - Heart and Vascular - Stroke RN

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health System, provides patient-centered care within a legal and ethical framework. This role focuses on utilizing the nursing process, maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collect pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or situation
• Analyze assessment data to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation
• Develop and modify a plan of care that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
• Implement the identified plan, coordinating care delivery and transitions in care
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes
• Practice ethically and in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles
• Communicate effectively in all areas of practice and collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders
• Lead within the professional practice setting and the profession, seeking knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice

Requirements

• Current BCLS certification (or obtain within one month of hire)
• Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
• Ability to stand/walk for more than half of the day
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, twist, and lift
• Ability to assist pushing/pulling/lifting patients ranging from five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
