About This Role

Supervise and coordinate nursing practice within the Behavioral Health 1 North Psychiatric Adult unit, assisting the manager with daily operations and ensuring quality patient care. This role involves leadership, staff development, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and care delivery
  • Assist with interviewing, selecting, and supervising nursing personnel
  • Coordinate communication through staff meetings and huddles to promote dialogue and information exchange
  • Collaborate with the manager to ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and policies
  • Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to gain insight into satisfaction and appropriateness of care
  • Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers
  • Assist in identifying expected outcomes for continuity of care and department operations
  • Evaluate progress towards goal attainment and disseminate information to teammates
  • Perform nursing care, assist with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administer medications
  • Coordinate management of patient flow/throughput and staffing through continuous assessment of volume/acuity needs

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state
  • BSN required (or enrolled within 1 year and complete within 3 years)
  • BLS required

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required
  • Minimum two years nursing experience preferred, previous management experience preferred
