Supervise and coordinate nursing practice within the Behavioral Health 1 North Psychiatric Adult unit, assisting the manager with daily operations and ensuring quality patient care. This role involves leadership, staff development, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Support the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and care delivery
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, and supervising nursing personnel
- Coordinate communication through staff meetings and huddles to promote dialogue and information exchange
- Collaborate with the manager to ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and policies
- Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to gain insight into satisfaction and appropriateness of care
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers
- Assist in identifying expected outcomes for continuity of care and department operations
- Evaluate progress towards goal attainment and disseminate information to teammates
- Perform nursing care, assist with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administer medications
- Coordinate management of patient flow/throughput and staffing through continuous assessment of volume/acuity needs
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state
- BSN required (or enrolled within 1 year and complete within 3 years)
- BLS required
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required
- Minimum two years nursing experience preferred, previous management experience preferred
