Registered Nurse School Setting

About This Role

Provide one-on-one nursing support to a medically fragile middle school student, including during transportation, and collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care during transportation on a special education van from the student's home to school and back
• Support the student's preparation for transport each trip in the morning and afternoon
• Collaborate with the nurse stationed at the out-of-district campus to ensure continuity of care
• Float to additional nursing roles within the school district as needed
• Maintain accurate health records and communicate with school staff and families

Requirements

• Current and valid RN or LPN license
• Ability to manage medical needs safely during transportation
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to float to different roles within the district
• Punctuality with availability for early mornings (starting between 7:00 to 7:30 AM) and school dismissal around 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Qualifications

• Experience in school nursing or providing skilled care to medically fragile children is preferred
