Registered Nurse (RN) - Recovery Room

About This Role

This role involves performing age-specific patient care using the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and other health team members to coordinate and implement procedures and treatments. The nurse will apply leadership skills and clinical judgment in supervising patient care and delegating activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interviews, explain policies and procedures, and review patient charts.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status, including mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition.
• Determine level of pain and pain management, communicating and documenting physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Assess patient’s psychosocial health status, coping mechanisms, knowledge level, and ability to comprehend clinical information.
• Develop patient outcome statements and individualized patient goals, identifying care activities and priorities.
• Coordinate the cost-effective use of supplies, equipment, and medication.
• Implement and continuously monitor the plan of care, ensuring safety precautions are followed.
• Administer prescribed treatments, use necessary equipment, and provide emotional support to patients and significant others.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient’s treatment, activity, condition, and responses to interventions.
• Act rapidly and effectively during emergency situations, managing self, patients, and other employees.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
