About This Role

The Operating Room Registered Nurse organizes and administers individualized patient care as a Circulator/Scrub Nurse, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and professional standards. This role involves participating in patient teaching, quality improvement activities, and providing care across diverse surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Function as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room
• Organize and administer individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room
• Provide nursing care in accordance with objectives, policies, procedures, and protocols of the hospital
• Adhere to AORN, ASPAN, and SGNA standards
• Participate in patient teaching, incorporating specific age/cultural needs
• Participate in quality improvement activities
• Ensure 24/7 operating room coverage
• Engage in innovation and continued learning with new equipment and procedures

Requirements

• Current active CT RN License
• Previous OR experience (or eligibility for Transition to Practice Program for Novice/Graduate Nurses)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Independent problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• BSN Preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
