Registered Nurse (RN)- Operating Room (OR)

About This Role

Deliver and ensure high-quality patient care in the Operating Room by assessing patient conditions, developing individualized care plans, and participating in patient education and discharge planning. This role involves active collaboration with the care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Systematically assess patient's knowledge base and physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health
• Consult with multidisciplinary health care team regarding nursing assessment findings
• Communicate pertinent information and changes in patient status to the care team
• Provide and/or delegate patient care according to the plan and established protocols
• Conduct clinical rounds, provide emergency care, and administer medications
• Perform and assist with procedures and treatments including changing dressings, feeding patients, and providing pre/post-operative care
• Document patient care on all appropriate forms, including admission assessments, progress notes, and transfer assessments
• Identify patient learning needs and provide comprehensive patient and family education
• Participate in quality improvement processes, unit goals, and staff meetings

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
• BCLS, ACLS or PALS certification

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
