Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process, coordinating care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and supervising OR technicians, all while adhering to professional nursing standards and hospital policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults
- Coordinate patient care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist
- Direct and guide OR Technicians and other personnel
- Maintain standards of professional nursing
- Work with other departments to provide a continuum of care
- Adhere to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services
- Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
Nice to Have
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
