About This Role

Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process, coordinating care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and supervising OR technicians, all while adhering to professional nursing standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults
  • Coordinate patient care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist
  • Direct and guide OR Technicians and other personnel
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing
  • Work with other departments to provide a continuum of care
  • Adhere to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services
  • Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training

Nice to Have

  • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications

Current BLS (AHA) certificate (Required) Current ACLS (AHA) certificate (Required) Current PALS (AHA) certificate (Required)
