Lead Medical Lab Scientist - Histology

About This Role

Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and body fluids which includes both automated and manual methods. Ensure accurate, timely reporting of laboratory test results and serve as a technical resource, performing supervisory functions for the section.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue and body fluids using both automated and manual methods
• Ensure accurate, timely reporting of lab test results to assist medical staff in patient care
• Serve as a technical resource
• Perform section supervisory functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
• 2 years experience as a medical technologist in acute care facility
• Demonstrated increasing responsibilities
• Clinical Laboratory Technologist license

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489 or have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on an HHS examination before 2/28/92 42 CFR 493.1491.
• 2 years as a medical technologist in acute care facility with demonstration of increasing responsibilities.
