Lead Medical Lab Scientist

About This Role

The Lead Medical Lab Scientist will oversee all operational aspects of an assigned laboratory section, including record-keeping, testing methodologies, staff training, and compliance. This role involves performing various laboratory tests to support disease diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and prevention, requiring collaboration with team members and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of operation in the assigned laboratory section/team/department
• Prepare and maintain records, reports, policies, and procedures
• Analyze testing methodologies and ensure technical oversight
• Assist with employee training and staffing
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards
• Perform laboratory tests and procedures to assist in diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and preventing disease

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Sufficient college/technical courses and clinical training for medical technologist certification
• 3 years of hospital experience
• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT, or AAB

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus college and/or technical school courses and clinical training sufficient for medical technologist certification
• Three (3) years of hospital experience required. Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) preferred
