Registered Nurse Oncology

About This Role

Provide specialized nursing care in oncology within a Level I trauma center, administering chemotherapy and managing complex IV therapies. This role is for nurses with at least one year of oncology experience, including those new to the field, looking to expand their skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other oncologic treatments safely and effectively
• Manage IV therapy and associated site care, including ports and PICC lines
• Monitor patient responses to treatment, communicate abnormalities, and document care in Cerner
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a high standard of patient care
• Maintain compliance with safety and infection control standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year oncology nursing experience
• Proficient in chemotherapy administration and safety protocols, including continuous infusion, IV push, and cytotoxic spill management
• Skilled in IV therapy, including port access, blood product administration, and central line care
• Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
• Flexibility to float within the facility as needed
• Willingness to work every other weekend

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year oncology nursing experience; first-timers encouraged to apply
