Registered Nurse NICU Per Diem

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility and accountability for providing comprehensive care to a group of patients within a designated timeframe, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to established standards of care and core values. This role supports professional growth and work-life balance through flexible scheduling within Arnot Health's Flex Staff program.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing and systematic assessment/data collection focusing on patients' physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status
• Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses
• Identify appropriate expected outcomes individualized to the patient
• Formulate a goal-directed plan of care, prioritized and based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes
• Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them
• Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner
• Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation duties on the unit and in the patient record
• Evaluate effectiveness of self, care given by other health care team members, and contribution of systems/environment
• Function with an awareness and application of safety issues within the institution
• Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols

Requirements

• Current NYS nursing licensure, limited permit or eligible
• Excellent communication skills and writing ability
