About This Role

Provide professional nursing care at a beginner practitioner level on a medical unit, focusing on patient and family-centered care. This role involves direct patient care, coordinating care planning, and ensuring safe patient outcomes during night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate direct care based on the nursing process and clinical standards of the hospital, acting as a primary nurse for patients on the unit
  • Synthesize patient data to develop outcome-driven plans
  • Safely and independently administer prescribed treatments, medications, and nursing interventions
  • Appropriately organize and prioritize time based on patient condition and workload, identifying and acting on changes in patient status
  • Identify and communicate individualized patient needs for safe handoffs during transitions of care
  • Appropriately and correctly document patient responses to interventions and progress toward outcomes
  • Provide leadership for problem solving and goal formation, and negotiate for win-win solutions
  • Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel and monitor completion of assigned tasks
  • Promote collaboration and cooperation among physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge, skills, and competencies through advanced/continuing education

Requirements

  • Current RN license in PA or Multi-State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Med/Surg RN experience

Qualifications

  • Diploma Program or Associates Degree required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Med/Surg RN experience required

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • ACLS (for Emergency Care, ICU, L&D, PCC/PACU/ENDO, Procedural)
  • PALS (for Emergency Care, ICU, PEDS, PCC/PACU/ENDO)
  • NRP (for L&D, NICU)
